Creating Prediction Patterns

There are two ways to create a prediction pattern to use in receiving issues of a serial title:

Create a prediction pattern from a pattern template
Add a new prediction pattern from scratch

Ignore the option to “Import from Bibliographic and/or MFHD Records.”

Prediction patterns can be shared within NOBLE or within your library; a number of common prediction patterns (e.g. weekly, monthly, quarterly) and unique patterns (e.g. Fortune, Forbes) are maintained by NOBLE and shared among all libraries.

Create a pattern from a template

To choose from existing prediction pattern templates:

Select “Create from Template” and choose a template from the menu

Click on “Create” to apply the template. Note: In almost all cases, you should leave the “Type” as “Basic” (default).

The prediction pattern will display below. Click on “Predict New Issues” to generate issues to receive

Then input the number of predicted issues you would like to generate and click “Save”

The predicted issues will display on the “Manage” issues tab
