You can select and delete items from the Holdings Maintenance screen for a bib record. This might be a useful method when you have large numbers of items attached to a record, and want to delete many copies without scanning the items individually. For example, you could use this method if you wanted to delete all but one or two copies of a book that’s no longer on your summer reading list, no longer in use by a book group, etc. It’s also useful for projects where you may be deleting some copies and moving or editing others.
Step 1:
Do a search in the catalog and select the record.
Step 2:
Under Actions for This Record, select Holdings Maintenance. (Note: Be sure that the options Show Volumes and Show Items are checked. If they are not, check them and click Refresh. These are sticky settings so once you have set them for a workstation they should stay checked.)
Step 3:
Select the items you want to delete by holding down the Shift key and clicking the first and last item to select a range, or by holding down the Control key and clicking on individual items.
Step 4:
Open the Actions for Selected Rows menu or use a right click, and select Delete.
