About Selection Lists
Using Selection Lists is optional.
Most libraries choose not to use selection lists, as it is an additional step in the ordering process and instead start their ordering process with purchase orders.
Some facts about selection lists:
- Selection lists allow you to review materials you are considering ordering.
- Multiple individuals can contribute to a single selection list.
- Selection lists can have meaningful names to allow you to track lists of materials.
- Selection lists can be merged, cloned, or deleted when no longer needed as long as the selection list has not been converted to a purchase order.
- Selection lists always reflect the current state of the line item.
- The line items on a single selection list do not necessarily match the line items on a single purchase order. One or more items can be split off from a selection list to create separate purchase orders. Therefore, a selection list can contain line items belonging to more than one purchase order.
- Bibs and items can not be loaded into the catalog from a selection list.
- A selection list is owned by the login that created it.
- Use the General Search to view selection lists created by other users.
