Adding Users

One or more users may be associated with a course. Users may be instructors, teaching assistants, students, etc. Users must have an existing Evergreen account and should be assigned a role for the course.

To add a user to a course:

  • Select the “Course users” tab from the course page

  • If you have the user's barcode, scan / enter it in the search box
  • If you do not have the user's barcode, click “Search for Patron”; this option takes you to the normal patron search interface

  • Enter some identifying information for the user
  • Click “Search”

  • Check the box for the correct user
  • Click “Select”

  • Select the appropriate user role from the dropdown menu. There are three pre-defined roles: instructor, teaching assistant, and student. These roles display when you start typing.
Note: Users with specified roles (e.g. Instructor, Teaching Assistant) will display in the public catalog; students will NEVER appear in the public catalog.
  • Click “Add User” to add the use to the course
